Medication  Tracking

Produce Meaningful Population Reports on Patient Medications

With thousands of medications in your EHR database,  it’s hard to produce meaningful reports on drug types prescribed for defined populations.  For example, the simple question “ How many of my cardiovascular patients are on lipid lowering medications?” is a challenge for most health care facilities to answer without extensive manual work.

To address this challenge, i2iTracks includes a medication tracking feature, which enables your staff to define which specific medications map to categories that are useful in reporting.  With this feature, you get a standard library of medication categories such as “lipid lowerers”, to which you may map specific, equivalent medications from your EHR.  Once mapped, these categories become accessible in i2iTracks reporting and may be used like any other clinical measure as you design reports, searches, graphs, and dashboards.  In this way, i2iTracks removes the confusion of dealing with brand names and generic equivalents, and delivers the insights required to more effectively manage your populations.

By adding i2iTracks optional Pharmacy Interface (an optional interface that is available with i2iLinks) , you can enhance your ability to report on patient medications and use.  With the pharmacy interface:

  • Pharmacy data can easily flow into youri2iTracks systems enabling you to manage refills and medication follow-up. You know which patients are picking up their meds and which or not.
  • New reports provide deeper insights:  create searches of patients prescribed medications but have no pharmacy data for pick up. Report on data by medication category.
